Munchkin Mason

Our little baby is growing...ok so maybe he isn't growing that much. Mason had his 9 month checkup today. He weighs 18lbs 8oz (25-50%) and 27 inches long (10%). We don't make tall babies!!! All is good with him. No teeth but doc said they are really close at poking through the bottom!!

Comin for ya....

So Mason has decided he wants to be a complete pain in the you know what for feelings. He wiggles. He pulls my hair. He arches his back. And he is just plain rambunctious!! Good thing he's cute as can be huh???

Silence is golden

We took a trip to St. Louis to visit my family. The trip there wasn't too bad, but the trip home was like heaven!! Mason slept almost the whole way home and Paige slept for almost 2 hours!!! Pure quiet bliss!!!

Sucker

Yep, I'll admit it. This little boy has completely stolen my heart!

Milestone

What a big day in her little world!  Paige started preschool!  We were lucky enough to get into the Early Bird Learning Center at Liberty High School.  In the past, this program was only open to teacher's kids, but this is the first year they opened it up!  The class is small and has 3, 4 and 5 year olds.  She goes Monday-Friday from 8:30-noon.  So far, she absolutely loves it!  She was beside herself with excitement her very first day!

Proud momma!  I can't believe she's old enough for school already!!! (PS don't mind the crotch shot, she had on bloomers.  Apparently we need to work on her lady like manners!!)

Joe and I took off work for her first day of school so we could take her.  Much to my own surprise, I didn't even cry!  I did get a little sad when we dropped her off, but I held it together.  The backpack Paige is carrying is very special.  Paige's cousin Sammy (who is now in high school) wore this backpack her first year of preschool.  Paige's other cousin Sylvia also wore it her first day of preschool and she passed it down to Paige.  It was so sweet of her!  So she had to carry this one!  Paige asked if we were going to leave her at school.  I explained that we were but she would be with her teacher and that we would be back to get her.  She said, "Oh, okay!!  Bye-bye!"  And that was it! 

Squeaky Clean Boy

Nothing better than a freshly bathed baby!!  I can't believe how big he is getting already!  He still is toothless, but that's ok.  Joe thinks he will be walking before he has teeth!!  He is 8 1/2 months old and I'm already thinking about his 1st birthday party.  Yes, I'm that anal!! :) 

Go mommy Go

So I completed my second ever sprint triathlon!  Mason is still a bit too little, but Joe and Paige were there to cheer me on!  Joe even surprised me with a shirt and onesie for the kids!  Check it out:

This is an all women's triathlon so it was no surprise that they had kid friendly activities.  Good thing, because Paige needed something to pass the time!  She had fun, can ya tell??

Before the race!!

The triathlon is a 500 meter swim, 10 mile bike and a 5k run.  I finished in 1 hour 25 minutes!!  I shaved a whole 6 minutes from my previous time!!  Not too shabby since I seriously slacked on my training time with two kids and a full time job!!

On a side note, Joe also completed a duathlon (run 1.5 miles, 12 mile bike and run 5k) and got an amazing 6th place finish overall!!  He was only 5 seconds behind the 5th place finisher!!  He did awesome and we are super proud of him. 



Big girl, big imagination

Well, our baby girl is all grown up. I have several pictures of Paige's first day of school, but honestly I haven't had time to get them off the camera. So anyway, she did awesome! And for those wondering, so did I! Didn't shed one tear!

Funny Paige story: we were talking about a friend that had a baby recently and Paige said, "Mom, how did Dana get the baby in her belly?" my mouth dropped!!!!! Omg!!!

Funny Paige story #2: after her second day of school she comes home and tells Mona that the "chocolate girl in her class had a bad day" yeah.... Guess long talks need to be had!

Tonight Paige decided the walls needed more color. We did not find this amusing so she had to clean it off. Thank God for magic eraser!!!

Tricks

Mason has new tricks!! He went from crawling to pulling up to standing in a matter of a week! Our house just got way more interesting!

Got milk???

Mason had yogurt for the first time. I'd say he's a fan!!! By the way, this mess face is courtesy of Paige!

Miss Independent

We have hit the "I need to pick out my clothes myself" stage. For everyone who knows me has to know how hard this is for my OCDness!!! Trying to allow her to make her own choices. This is just in time for her to start school on Wednesday. I seriously don't think I can let her go to school in mismatched outfits!!! Lol

On the move

Mason is on the move!! Our house will never be the same. Who am I kidding, it hasn't been the same since we had Paige! The gate is great except when he falls into the net with his legs sticking up in the air, crying. Too bad I didn't get a picture of that.

Look...I did myself

As you can see Paige got into the makeup!! Funny thing is that we didn't know what it was and got to Mona's house just as she was getting up from her nap. I thought she had black eyes!!

Side note: apparently we can no longer spell things around her. Don't ask, but Joe and I were talking about something and I spelled the word p-e-n-i-s and Paige says in a sing songy voice, "P-E-N-I-S" several times!

Dentist

Paige had her first visit to the dentist today! She did awesome, but did get a little freaked out. Now all she wants to do is brush her teeth and floss...guess there are much worse things!

Double trouble

I'm pretty sure these two are gonna get together and cause some major trouble as they grow. Don't get me wrong I love their connection, but I foresee some conspiring against ole mom and dad!!

Pretty pretty princess

She constantly wants to help so I thought she could help me make turkey meatballs. Who knew I had such a princess. She stuck her hands in and then made a funny face and said,"ewww, my hands are all dirty!" however she did keep going!

Moments

Moments like this truly melt my heart! She was dying to feed him so I let her feed him his entire breakfast! He did awesome. Such a great big sister!!!
