Big girl in a little stroller

The best $8 investment I have ever made.  She has now moved on from putting her cobijita, books and anything other than a baby in the stroller to putting herself in the stroller!  Needless to say, if she keeps this up, the $8 investment might not make it very long.  Poor baby, although she's smiling, she was pretty sick that day.  What a trooper!

Workin' on my fitness

Paige must think she needs to go running to.  I can not leave my running shoes out without Paige putting them on, but now she actually tries to walk in them!  She's so cute.  I can't wait till she can do a race with me and her daddy!

Elmo's Sick Little World

So Paige hasn't been feeling that well and all she wants to do is watch "Elmo's World" over and over and over and o.v.e.r again!!!  It's the only thing she will sit still for so we just let her.  Actually, when she's sick is the only cuddle time I get so I suppose I'll take it!

Last night she woke on on FIRE with a fever of 102.7.  Thankfully, she went back to sleep and the fever is gone today.  She thinks it's the funniest thing to pretend to take her own temperature.

Scratching the surface

When Joe's off work he tends to not shave...this was the first time Paige realized it and she kept pointing at his face.  So cute.  Guess me and her are a lot alike...we don't like the whiskers!!  She is a daddy's girl though.

Windy City

And this is the result of a day playing outside with this horrible wind we have had lately!!!  I think she's could be a trend starter!!

Peeping Paige

So I have a friend with twin girls just a little younger than Paige.  I follow her blog and am constantly watching her girls climb on everything!  Scares me to death just looking at the pictures.  I have to admit that I thought to myself, "Whew, thank goodness Paige isn't a climber!"  Well, I guess I should have kept that thought to myself!  Her newest "adventure" is carrying her step stool around to reach anything she couldn't previously reach.  The chairs, light switches, the counter, food in the pantry, everything!!!

I couldn't get a picture of it, but she was also holding on to the counter and swinging back and forth like she did on the swing...an accident waiting to happen, I tell ya!

Suck it up!

Paige helping daddy vacuum her room today to get ready for my mom's visit.  I love how helpful she is lately.  She wants to help dust, sweep the floor, dry the dishes and pretty much anything else she can get her little hands on!  My little girl is growing up!!

Lucky Charms

When I picked up Paige on St. Patrick's Day this was her little fingers!  Soooo cute!

Disappearing Act

So Joe and I were making dinner last night and realized that Paige was a bit too quiet so we knew she must be up to no good.  I go downstairs and see our drying rack and see that it was empty.  I ask Joe if he took the clothes upstairs and he said no...so we look and look and look.....and look for the clothes....

And we found them here...all stuffed in the drawer.  HAHA!!!  At least she knows how to put them up!

Her newest thing is that just when you take a picture she turns away and smirks.  This is her after I found the clothes!!!

Minor Catastrophes

It's been a rough couple of days for me and poor Pagina.  First, Sunday she is trying to get in her Cozy Coupe in the garage, trips and falls in the car and smacks her lips on the shelves.  Blood. Crying. Not good.  Moving on to Monday, I'm downstairs running on the treadmill and the next thing I know Paige is tumbling down the stairs, head over feet.  I jump off and pick her up.  More blood.  More crying...by me AND her this time.  I feel like the worst mother in the world.  I know, I know...this happens and it's not the last time, but it still won't take away the picture that will forever be etched in my head of my poor baby girl tumbling down the stairs.  So this is the aftermath.  She bit her bottom lip and scratched up her chin.  So needless to say, not a good few days at the Merino Household.

Cutest thing was after she stopped crying and I started she was patting me on the back, like, "Oh, mom, it's ok!"  Love her!

Just-a-swangin

For whatever reason, Miss Paige loves to play in laundry baskets.  She sat in front of the back door (with Titan DYING to get inside) for like 5 whole minutes.  In toddler time, that's an eternity!!

Ever since she went to her gymnastics classes she feels the need to grab a hold and pick her feet up.  I've got to say, I'm quite impressed that she's strong enough to hold herself up.  Now she does this on her slide with an overhang and pretty much anything else she can.  It was nice today so we brought her swing out.  Instead of swinging in it like "normal" she likes this way better.

Did somebody call a plumber?????

I've been trying to get a picture of this for a few days now!!!  I just crack up when I see this first thing in the morning!!!  I realize that I'm now one of those moms and I will catch hell for posting this, but it was too funny not to capture!!!  I have no idea what she does at night, but somehow her diaper ends up like this in the morning!  LOL!!!

Stocker

Don't get me wrong, I love the help, but sometimes it's just a lot faster if I can do it myself.  Paige is in to "helping" with everything, E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G!  So after the grocery store (which she thinks she needs to push the cart) she was "helping" me put away the groceries!  She's such a big girl.

Go Green

I ran the 4 mile St. Patrick's Day Run today in Westport.  It was awesome weather and so much fun.  I ran with co-workers while Joe and Paige cheered us on from the sidelines.  From left to right (me, Lori, Mary, Ashley and her husband David).

We all wore super cute socks in the spirit of St. Patty's day!!

Paige did not want to stay in her stroller.  I think she wanted to join us in the run!  I can't wait till she's old enough to run with me.

Through the eyes of a toddler

So evidently Paige thought she was a photographer today because Joe said she would scream if he took the camera away from her.  I'm working nights so I didn't have the pleasure of experiencing this...darn my luck.  So I thought I would share Paige's world her eyes.  The first picture looks like a butt or someones breasts!!!  Too funny!

Monkey Business

Sunday was our niece's 8th birthday party at a local gymnastics place.  Not sure who was more wore out, Paige or Abo (her grandpa).  She wouldn't leave him alone.  If he stood still for one minute she would grab his finger and drag him someplace.  She sure does love her Abo!!!

You got me trippin...

Today was a busy day.  I start my week of nights tonight so since that leaves Paige with Joe alone, I always try and make dinner during the day so all he has to do is warm it up.  So after breakfast, I was attempting to make dinner, but Paige decided it was a good time to bring in ALL her shoes and other nonsense to the middle of the kitchen floor.  I don't know how many times I tripped over something and yelled and Paige laughed!

Mommy-n-Me

I had the day off today while Joe was working so it was a mommy-n-me day!!  In the morning, she decided to take her books for a stroll in her baby stroller.  For some reason, she never puts her baby in the stroller, just books, or her cobijita.

Today for the first time, Paige actually watched TV!!  I will sometimes turn on cartoons for her and she may watch for, literally 1 second, then it's on to something else.  Today, however, I put on Elmo's favorite songs and she watched for quite a while.  Then, of course, we had to watch it like  5 times, but oh well!  She was so cute dancing to the music!

Lately, she's likes to play dress up.  So (like before) she finds her tutu from her first birthday in her closet and wants it on.  Today was the first day she had the tutu and necklaces all on at the same time.  It was adorable!!

IronMan...er, woman

Not sure what has gotten in to Paige lately, but she has been chewing on the iron posts in our kitchen.  I know the doc said that iron is good for you, but I don't think he meant that kind of iron!!  Silly girl.

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!!

Every Thursday Paige goes to the Library and they always do some sort of craft.  Today, they made Horton Ears!!  Paige decided she needed to wear them while playing her cousins Nintendo DS!!  She is always dying to play it but he never lets her, so as soon as he goes to preschool in the afternoon, she swoops in and takes it!!  Love it!

This is how I roll

We got this Elmo notebook for Paige in the dollar pins at Target.  Best.Purchase.Ever.  However, for some reason, she likes to push out the kitchen chairs and lay on her stomach on the floor to "write" a note.
She's too much!

I scream, You Scream

WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!!!

We celebrated Joe's birthday with Mona's famous chicken tacos, yummy cake and ice cream!!!  Paige loved the ice cream cone, so much so that she poked a hole in the side in order to get more ice cream out of it!  She was so funny with that cone!!
