Barking

The people that live behind us have several dogs (that like to bark at 5am). Lately, when Mason sees any dog he barks at them and laughs!! I think he thinks they are going to "talk" back to him!! The owners of the dogs and their teenage kids were out playing Sunday with the dogs while Joe and I were cooking up a storm. The kids sat and watched them play for a good 15 minutes straight. Anyone with toddlers knows 15 minutes is a lifetime in their little world!

25th hour

Don't you wish there was just one more hour in the day??? At the end of the day, I reflect on everything we accomplished in the day and am constantly amazed at how much stuff we can get done in one singe day. Imagine if we had more time!?! I'm sure we would still fill that with even more "stuff" and still run out of time!! Anyway, I saw this ecard and thought it was perfectly fitting for the chaotic Merino Household!

Although we are running around constantly, we still manage to have fun!!

Science Fair

Paige's school had a science fair the other day and it was the cutest ever. It's so fun to see these tiny little kids all excited about school and showing off their work. Paige and her high school buddy, Audrey, decided to make bubbles and see if you added Dawn soap to it which bubbles would be better. She was talking about bubbles for days! The last picture you see Ms. D. Paige absolutely loves her teacher. She is constantly imitating her and "teaching" us. Pretty sure she is going to be a teacher when she grows up. Which makes mom and dad VERY happy!!

De Ja Vu

Mona charged up the "tractor" and let the kids go! Paige had a blast driving Mason around and did surprisingly well!! Now all she talks about is this tractor. Mona and Arthur bought this for Sylvia and Cameron when they were exactly Paige and Mason's age (back when Sylvia and Cameron got along). Ah, memories!!

MAC lessons

Ummmm, pretty sure instead of gymnastics classes maybe we need to enroll Paige in makeup lessons!! HAHA! She comes out happy as a clam but looking like someone punched her in the eye!

Giddy Up!

I don't know where he got this from, but lately he will get his "tita" (aka blanket") and put it between his legs and just walk around! It's the funnies thing!!

MEXICO!!!!!!!!!

Joe and I went on our first vacation since the kids!! Overdue and much needed! We went to Cancun, Mexico with four other couples. We had a blast, but were really glad to get home! A huge thanks to my mom for watching the kids while we were gone. What a blessing! Not sure who had more fun, the kids or my mom. However, she was quite exhausted I'm sure. We spent 5 days and 4 nights in the most beautiful weather. We sat by the pool, talked, laughed, laughed some more and ate awesome food! Overall, great trip!

We brought back seashells and pesos for Paige. She loved it and even brought them to school for show and tell!

Happy Easter

Mona told Paige that the last day of March was Easter so pretty much all month she wakes up and says, "Is today the last day of March?" So FINALLY the last day of March arrived and she was pumped! She woke up to Easter baskets for her and Mason. She asked me and Joe if we saw the Easter bunny and if he hopped in our house?! Paige did an Easter egg hunt after church service and did awesome. She was literally sprinting around the area. Big cousin Sylvia decided at the last minute she was going to participate in the hunt and even won a big Easter basket. She kept the candy, but decided to give Paige the stuffed bunny. Paige was beside herself with excitement and named the bunny, "Little bunny foo foo."

Mason on the other hand, was not so sure about Easter and eggs. We tried to get him to pick up the eggs but he was just confused. When he finally did pick them up from his basket he just stood there holding them. I think he thought they were balls!

Every Easter Mona makes about a bijillion confetti eggs. Months before Easter she cracks her eggs on the very tip creating a small hole and taking out the insides. She saves all of them and dyes the eggs and stuffs them with "confetti" (ie hole punched paper) and closes it with tissue paper. Then come Easter all the kids get the confetti eggs and crack them over each other's heads. Well, this year Big Girl Paige got to help LeLa with the eggs. Weeks leading up to Easter after her school, Mona had a job for her. One day was to dye the eggs. One day was to stuff them. And another day to curl the tissue paper over the top of the eggs. Paige had so much fun and did such a great job! Creating awesome memories for sure!!

On the way home, Paige thought she was hot stuff in her new sunglasses!! She's too much!

Disney on Ice

We took Paige to see Disney on Ice this past weekend. I was really excited to take her and see her reaction...well, didn't go as I had it planned in my head. I really thought she would be super excited and jumping up and down...nope. I think the problem is 1) she's still pretty young and 2) she hadn't seen all the movies so she didn't understand it. Me, on the other hand, knew several of the songs and sang right along with them!! hehe!!! Paige was pretty surprised her old mom knew the words to Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast!! Joe was pretty shocked himself. Love that I can still surprise him!

Silly Girl Faces

She is at such a fun age now! I feel like I keep saying that, but it really does keep getting better. Now, not ALL the time, but most of the time! It's fun to joke around and be silly with her. Sometimes she's not sure if we are joking or serious, which is fun for me!!
