Par-TAY Day!!!

After weeks and weeks of planning, the Mickey Mouse Party was here and it was a HUGE hit!!!  Thanks to my awesome friend, Miranda for helping me decorate.  I swear without Etsy and great friends, I would never have parties like these!

Here are the cupcakes Mona made.  She always amazes me with her creativity!  Not only are they super cute, they were quite tasty!!

And thanks to pinterest, we made these cute little Mickey Mouse Clubhouse sandwiches.  Yes, we (any by we I mean, my mom!) cut out all of these little mickey mouse cheeses and lunch meat!!  Ah, the things we do for the kids.  The sandwiches were a huge hit though!

And here it is!!!  The big present for Miss Paige!  Her very own swingset...well, she will have to share with Mason when he gets older!

Mr. Mason was even decked out in Mickey gear!!  I love this little man!

Family time

God I love this family!!  Although we are completed exhausted from the constant running of these two, I know neither of us would change it!  Some days I feel like a super woman running around crazy and other days I have no idea how to keep up.  Between our work schedules, exercising (and both training for races), pumping and just the daily upkeep of the house, it's exhausting!!  But then you have a moment like this and it makes it all worth it!

Paige has also started saying, "I love you" and it melts my heart!!!  Things like that make all the craziness worth every tired moment!

Love

I know I've said it before, but I absolutely LOVE the connection these two have.  He really is the first thing she asks for when she wakes up and the last thing she asks about before she goes to bed.  If we set him down, she literally runs over to hold him, kiss him or try to pick him up!  He lights up when she talks to him.  I love their connection!  Someone tell me this will continue!  (Note their color difference!! HAHA!)

Hot Hot Birds

We braved the heat and went to watch the Cardinal vs Royals baseball game this past Sunday.  WOW was it a HOT one!!!  This is Paige and her little friend Travis (aka her husband).  Not sure which one pushed their chairs together, but it's so cute!

Laid back.....

It was so hot, but the 3rd inning Paige was ready to go.  Happy to say though that the Cards WON!!!

Pool Day Fun

Believe it or not, this was our first time at the pool this summer.  Paige is like a little fish.  She thinks she doesn't need her life vest!

Mason on the other hand was pretty interested in the water!  He just starred and starred at it!!  He never cried or got freaked out.  He just slapped and laughed.  He's so dang cute!

Cousin Sylvia thought it was time for him to go surf boarding!  He's already a pro!  Hawaii here we come!!! LOL

Imitation

Lately, Paige has been doing a ton more imitating and it's pretty cute (most of the time).  If I'm dancing around the kitchen, she will too!  Then she loves to get her baby and feed her the bottle.  Then she will grab a burp cloth, put it on her shoulder and burp her baby!  It's so cute.  She even sets her baby down and says, "Hi baby!  It's ok!!  Don't cry, mommy will take care of you!"  She's so sweet!

Tia NeNe

Paige just loves her Tia NeNe (Aunt Rene).  Every time she drops the kids off at Mona's Paige checks out what she is wearing and how her hair is fixed.  She really likes it when she wears big flowers or hats so fitting, Rene got Paige a huge feather for her hair and this hat!  I keep trying to get her to wear it out, but she won't but she loves to wear it around the house!  She's too much!

Happy Daddy's Day

Here is Joe's Father's Day presents!  Love the plague I got him, but notice there is an "S" missing...its in the mail.  But otherwise I love how it turned out!

Joe ran a duathlon (run, bike, run) on Father's Day so the kids got him a new Livestrong cycling jersey!  Paige thought she needed to wear it first though!

Update on growth

No pics for this one, but Paige and Mason both had their well check ups this week.  Paige is 3 years old and I can't believe it!  She is 35 3/4 inches tall, which puts her in the 10-25% for height.  She weights 29lbs which puts her in the 50% for weight.  Doc was surprised she was in the 50% she she looks so small.  He said, she must be really strong.  I'd have to agree!  No shots for Paige so she was happy!

As for Mason, he had his 6 month check up.  Mason is 25 3/4 inches tall which puts him in the 10-25% (shocker...we made short babies).  He weighs 16lbs and 10oz which puts him in the 40% for weight.  His head measures 17 3/4 inches which puts him in the 95%!!  He's got a lot of brains in there!!  Mason got 3 shots and wasn't very happy about them (neither was mommy).
 .
I found this questionnaire on pinterest that asks kids the same 20 questions each year on their birthday.  It will be fun to see Paige's responses.  I started this year and here are her responses:

Imagination

Lately, Paige's imagination has been in full force.  She tells us all the time that this is a puppy in her room, what color he is and what he is doing.  His name is usually something similar to the names of the Backyardigans!  Now has decided that she wants to pretend feed Mason.  Usually ends up with Mason crying because she is forcing the spoon down his throat...ah, the joys of the second child!!

Birthday Girly Girl

Yep, I took Paige to get her toes and nails painted!!!  It wasn't a full blown pedicure or anything, but it made her feel super special!  She was such a good girl.  Sat still and everything.  A few days later, she chipped her thumb nail and told me that she needed to go and get it fixed.  I told her she needed to get a job!

Birthday Girl

I can't believe our little girl is 3 years old already!!  I swear in the last few weeks, she has grown up so much.  The things she says sometimes, blows my mind and cracks me up!  One day, I need to video her!  The night before her birthday, LeLa and Abo picked her up and took her to church and an ice cream social.  Then she got to spend the night with them!  They asked her if she wanted to spend the night and here is what she said, "If you buy some chocolate syrup, I will spend the night!  So first buy some then go home!"  HAHAHA, where does she get this stuff from?  Then she said, "Abo, if you stop at the store buy me some Elmo toothpaste too because I ran our of that at your house."  So that's exactly what they did!!

Momma's boy

It is driving Joe crazy, but it's official.  Mason is a pure momma's boy!  And I have to say, I love every minute of it!!!  Paige is such a daddy's girl, so it's only fitting that he's my momma's boy!  Joe was always able to calm Paige down and I can calm Mason down.  Joe gets frustrated because he will be crying and I will take him and he instantly stops!  Melts my heart!

Looks can be deceiving..

She may look sweet an innocent, but sometimes we wonder if she truly has an alter ego!!

For some reason, we thought that it would be a good idea to take a road trip and stay in a hotel with a 3 year old and a 6 month old.  Um, yeah, it's about as much fun as you may think!!  So NOT.AT.ALL!!!  We travelled to Belle, MO for a family reunion.  The hotel was pretty much as expected.  When we got there, Paige was literally running from wall to wall, bouncing off each!  Then Mason went to sleep, but Paige wouldn't.  We finally had to turn off the lights and ignore her.  As soon as we turned the lights off, we hear, "Hey, I can't see!"  So, of course, we start laughing (as quiet as we can) and then we hear, "Are you laughing?"  Which only made us giggle harder!  Eventually, she fell asleep and Mason decided to get up bright and early.  Fun times!  Overall, we made it.  Probably won't be doing that again for quite some time, but we made it!

For whatever reason, Paige has decided that finding every piece of paper she can find and spreading it ALL over the house is a great idea.  Remember when my house used to be clean???
