Hard at work

I was searching online for names for this baby boy and Paige felt the need to help!  She actually looks like she was concentrating and helping me!  No luck as of yet...still just baby boy Merino!

I need.....

This was a new one for us.  I have a friend with twins that her girls have been climbing in their highchairs for months now.  I thought we may have gotten lucky...not so much!!!

Recently, Paige has started saying "I need" in front of everything. "I need awah (water)", "I need up!", "I need...I NEED!!!"  I tried explaining to Paige the other day the difference between need vs wants...Joe had to laugh at that one!!  He said, "How ironic that I was explaining that difference to her!"

Ghettofied

A former co-worker got this pacifier of fake gold teeth for Paige when she was born.  As we were cleaning out her old baby items we found it and she has become quite attached!  She even looks a bit drugged in this pic!!

Created a Monster

Well, it has finally happened.  We created a monster!!  Paige is obsessed with cleaning up!  We bribe her to eat dinner for a napkin so she can clean.  We use this little broom and dust pan to clean up small messes and she loves playing with it.  The other day I caught her cleaning the bathroom floor with the toilet cleaner!  I suppose there could always be worse things!!

Cheesy Counter

Paige has learned to count all the way to 10 (with some help, of course!)  But when I ask her what color are the bracelets she was just counting, she insists on getting up close and personal with them!!

She has taken quite a liking to her baby doll lately.  Hopefully she is preparing for her little brother.  But today she decided he needed to make a phone call!!

Focus, Paige, Focus!!

We have started Paige in swim lessons again.  Quite a bit different than last year!  She loves it, but has seemed to regress a bit.  She's a bit more timid and we are constantly struggling with her to focus on what is going on!  Overall, it's a fun time!

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We FINALLY had the big ultrasound and found out IT'S A BOY!!!  We are so excited!!  We had dinner with Joe's family last night and to tell them Joe thought it would be fun to bring over balloons with a note inside that read "It's a boy!" and the kids had to pop the balloons to find the note!  Cameron picked pink for girl and Sylvia picked the blue balloon.  The kids had fun popping the balloons.  Of course, we couldn't leave out Paige so she got a balloon too and insisted on popping it.  With the help of big cousin (and idol) Sylvia, Paige was able to pop her balloon too! 

Here's Paige's first look at her baby brother!  Sure she's smiling here, but here was the conversation on the way home from Joe's family.

Me:  Paige you are going to have a baby brother!

Paige:  NOOOO!  Why????

She still doesn't fully understand what is going on, but she will have to soon enough!

Winnie the Pooh

Paige and Joe had a daddy/daughter date the other day!  It's been so unbelievably hot out so Joe decided to take her to the movies to see Winnie the Pooh!  We thought this was a great idea...WRONG!!!  She's been to the movies before, however it has been with my mother and father in law AND her two older cousins.  So seeing the older kids sit and watch and having other people to keep her occupied is apparently the ticket!  Joe said she was quite the little handful...note to self!!!  She was pretty cute though sticking her arm in the popcorn bag!

Fully Clothed

Recently, Paige has decided she can dress herself!  So any type of clothing around she will put it on.  My socks on her foot (yes, just one foot) or her pj pants on her arms!!  She's getting so big!

Peek a BOO!

She loves to climb all the way in the cabinet and push open the drawers on the other side - hitting me while I'm trying to prepare dinner!  She then reaches in the drawer and pulls out all the large spoons!  She's a mess!!!

For Baby

Well, this was Paige's room for one day!  We were planning on keeping the crib and big girl bed in her room and letting her choose for a while.  Well, much to our surprise she immediately chose the big girl bed and when we asked her if we could move the crib out she said YES!  We told her the crib was for the baby so ever since every time she sees the crib she says, "For baby!" and shakes her head yes!  It's too cute!  She's already such a big girl!!!  She's done awesome in the big girl bed.  The first full day naps were iffy, but ever since she's has done awesome!!  Our little girl is getting too big!  It's so weird to walk past the "office" and see a baby crib in there.  I guess, ready or not, another baby will be here before we know it!  Speaking of, we will be finding out the gender July 18th!!!  I can't wait!!!

Hollywood!!!

A rare occurrence happened last night.  Joe and I were actually able to sit down and have a conversation while Paige played quietly by herself.  I looked down to see her sitting there with her "Hollywood" sunglasses on playing away!  It was the cutest thing ever!  She played like that for quite a while!!  Glasses and all.

Secrets

Not sure where she got this from, but lately she likes to get right in your ear and "tell you a secret"!!  Basically, she gets to your ear, giggles and whispers "secret, secret, secret!"  Then you have to tell her a secret too! 

Funny eyes

Paige makes the funniest faces sometimes!  Anytime she goes over a bump while riding her bike or pushes a button that will make noise she flickers her eyes like a million times a second!!  It's hilarious!!!  Each time I make something in the blender or food processor I have her help me push the button.  I tried to get it on video but it didn't turn out.  Hard to explain, but super super cute!!!

Big Sis in training

Lately, Paige has been really in to her baby dolls.  Not sure why, but I take it that she is practicing for her new baby brother or sister.  The other day she picked up her baby, kissed it on the forehead and Joe and I thought, "Oh what a sweet moment." Well, that moment was soon followed by her throwing the baby doll down on the ground and running away laughing! 

Today she wrapped the baby in her "tita" (we have now shortened her Cobijita to Tita) and wanted me to hold the baby and then she wanted to hold the baby.  It melted my heart and made me super excited for the new baby!

Shadowing

When Joe's family threw a shower for me when I was pregnant with Paige, Joe's sister, Rene, made me an awesome shadow box.  So I have decided to keep it going.  Each year, I put a picture of me, Joe and Paige up at that age.

Good find

Paige went to a thrift store with my sister in law today and talked her way in to having her buy this bird statue for her!  Thanks Tia Rene!!! 

I gotta say, I was quite scared when Joe came home and said he had something that Rene bought for Paige...thankfully, it was just a statue!!!
